President Bola Tinubu has pledged to speed up the completion of the Eastern Rail Line project on Saturday during the opening of several projects in the eastern part of the country.
The President said the Eastern Rail Line Project would help boost transportation and fast-track regional development, News About Nigeria reports.
The Eastern Rail Line will connect critical cities and improve trade, mobility, and economic integration in the region.
The project is expected to reduce travel time, ease the movement of goods and enhance the overall transportation experience for millions of Nigerians.
“This initiative is part of our broader vision to modernize Nigeria’s transportation infrastructure, facilitating seamless movement of people and goods,” President Tinubu stated during a recent address.
“The Eastern Rail Line will significantly improve regional connectivity, stimulate economic activities, and contribute to national growth.”
The President explained that the rail line would provide a reliable and efficient alternative to road transportation and help decongest major highways while fostering development in the southeastern and south-south regions of the country.
“Completion of this project is a priority for this administration, and we are committed to ensuring it is delivered on time to enhance the quality of life for Nigerians,” he added.
The Eastern Rail Line is expected to support long-term economic stability by creating jobs, enhancing trade routes and improving connectivity between key economic hubs.
It is also a crucial part of President Tinubu’s broader agenda to boost infrastructure development across the country, promoting regional balance and inclusive growth.
