A 35-year-old man, Felix Vhimga, has been found dead near a stream in the Ojowo area of Ijebu Igbo in Ogun State.
News About Nigeria learnt that Vhimga went missing after visiting his brother, Sunday Robert, in the community on Monday.
After his visit, Vhimga left his brother’s house at about 9 pm but didn’t reach his home.
According to Robert who raised the alarm about his whereabouts, he tried calling Vhimga’s phone but it was switched off, he then called his wife only to discover that he could not reach home the next day since he left his house.
Confirming the tragedy, a police source revealed that upon reporting the incident to the Ogun State Police Command, a search for Vhimga was launched.
The police source further revealed that the corpse of the deceased was found near a stream in the community during the search.
According to the source, Vhimga ‘s body was discovered at about 7 am on Wednesday (November 13) with a wound on his forehead close to the left eye.
He said, “Sunday Terkuma Robert, brother of the deceased, reported to the police that Felix visited him on November 11 and left around 9 pm. However, when Felix couldn’t be heard from the next day, Robert searched for him. It was after he could not locate him that he came to the station.
“The body was discovered around 7 am on November 13 with a wound on the forehead, close to the left eye. A team of policemen inspected the scene, evacuated the corpse, and deposited it at Alayangbe Private Morgue for autopsy.”
The source further disclosed that the case had been transferred to the State CriminaI Investigation Department, Ijebu Igbo, adding that, “Investigation is ongoing into the incident.”
