American rapper Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, recently revealed that he declined a $3 million offer to perform at a New York rally for former President Donald Trump.
Speaking on ‘The Breakfast Club’, Jackson shared that he was asked to perform his hit track “Many Men (Wish Death)” at the event but chose to steer clear of the political scene.
“I didn’t talk to them about that kinda stuff. I’m afraid about politics,” the rapper said.
“Many Men (Wish Death),” released in 2003 and inspired by 50 Cent’s near-fatal shooting in 2000, has seen a recent resurgence, landing in the top 10 on iTunes with renewed interest from Trump supporters.
Jackson noted that he understands the song’s appeal to Trump’s base, saying, “He says ‘fight’…and that’s exactly what I did after I got shot. I just went into fight mode. People identify with it that way.”
Earlier this year, Jackson also hinted at his political predictions on social media, saying, “I think Trump’s gonna be president again, but I’m not going to say that.”
Earlier this month, Trump said he is opposed to the Democrats’ stance on a federal abortion ban.
In a statement on his verified X account, Trump said he believes that abortion laws should be left to individual states.
Trump stated that, unlike Democrats, he does not support a federal abortion ban and would veto such legislation if proposed.
He added that his view aligns with giving states the authority to make decisions based on their voters’ preferences.
Trump also expressed support for certain exceptions, including cases of rape, incest, and when the mother’s life is at risk.
Criticising the Democrats’ stance, he claimed they back late-term abortions up to the 7th, 8th, or even 9th month, and even suggested some Democrats advocate for potential “execution of the baby after birth.”
