Forensic Analysis on Mohbad Completed, Lagos Attorney General Confirms

Nigerians are mourning and remembering the death of Mohbad on the first anniversary of his passing.

News About Nigeria reported that the talented music artiste, born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, died on September 12, 2023, under mysterious circumstances that continue to haunt fans and the entertainment industry a year later.

Fans and supporters were heartbroken upon hearing the news, especially given Mohbad’s rising success in Nigeria’s music scene.

Known for his viral street jams, Mohbad’s career was on an upward trajectory before his untimely death.

He had been signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records but left the label in 2022 amidst controversy.

Mohbad was survived by his wife, Wunmi, and their son Liam.

He reportedly died just two days after attending a show in Ikorodu, Lagos, on September 10, 2023.

Since then, the circumstances of his death have remained unclear, and investigations have not yielded any definitive conclusions.

There have been allegations of bullying, harassment, and assault during Mohbad’s time with Marlian Records. Naira Marley, the label’s founder, has publicly denied involvement in Mohbad’s death.

Police opened an investigation to determine what led to his passing, focusing on claims of mistreatment within the industry.

The Lagos State Coroner launched an inquest in 2023 to uncover the truth, but a year later, the investigation remains inconclusive.

Mohbad’s sudden illness, which began after he received medical treatment for a minor injury sustained at the show, led to his death within days.

Questions about the care he received and the events that transpired continue to fuel public speculation.

Family members, including Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, and his wife, have expressed deep pain and suspicion regarding his death.

His father suspects that certain people played a role in his son’s demise, while Wunmi testified that Mohbad fell ill after receiving an injection from a nurse.

There have also been controversies surrounding a DNA test requested by Mohbad’s father to confirm the paternity of Liam, as well as disagreements over the autopsy conducted on Mohbad’s remains.

The autopsy results have not provided clear answers, and the family has been granted the right to conduct an independent investigation.

As of now, more than a year after his death, the truth about what happened to Mohbad remains elusive.

The Lagos State Police have interrogated numerous witnesses and suspects, but no concrete evidence has been found.

While the coroner’s investigation is ongoing, justice for Mohbad and his family is still uncertain.

Fans and supporters continue to demand answers, holding protests and memorials to honour the late singer.
