PDP Crisis: Damagum, Anyanwu, Others Suspended By Factional NWC

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State, has vowed to win the 2024 Governorship Election in the State, News About Nigeria reports.

The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Party, Festus Akingbaso, made this known while speaking to the residents of the Idanre community in Idanre Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday.

Akingbaso, who is also a member of the House of Representatives, expressed his optimism and confidence in the outcome of the election, stating that the PDP will win the forthcoming governorship poll in Idanre and other local governments in the state.

He explained that though the Party is not as financially buoyant as their opposition, the All Progressive Congress, APC, it will not stop them from clinching victory at the polls.

He also advised the residents to accept money and gifts from the opposition if offered, but to still ensure they vote for the PDP on the day of the election.

“APC is threatening us that we are not as financially buoyant as them. But we have God. When they give you money, take their money and vote for PDP,” he stated.

Akingbaso further urged the people to desist from any form of violence, noting that it is not the modus operandi of the Party.

He appealed to them to rather take the campaign for the Party serious, including engaging in door to door campaigns.

Also speaking, the candidate of the party, Agboola Ajayi, expressed his  appreciation to the residents and party leaders in the local government, and urged the people to ensure that they deliver for the party in the November 16 election.
