President Tinubu Appoints North West Development Commission Management Board

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to equipping the Nigeria Police Force with advanced equipment and resources to enhance its performance.

News About Nigeria reports that Tinubu spoke on Saturday at the graduation ceremony of 478 students from the Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State.

He asked the graduates to uphold the principles of modern policing and adhere to the highest ethical standards in their work.

“We are also launching a massive recruitment campaign to empower young people to contribute to national security efforts,” Tinubu said.

Tinubu, who was represented by the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, explained the importance of maintaining the highest level of professionalism.

He expressed confidence that the officers had received comprehensive training, both academically and professionally, to positively impact the country’s security landscape.

Tinubu assured that the federal government would continue to support the academy, which he described as one of the top training institutions for police officers in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The president charged the new officers to prioritize the nation’s interests, discharge their constitutional duties with dedication and commitment, and remain vigilant in upholding the ideals of the police.

He also appealed to them to focus on effective service delivery.

“As you graduate today, you are not just receiving a certificate, but also becoming ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Service.”

“I charge you to discharge your primary duties with compassion, integrity, and professionalism.”

“Remember that you are the face of the police service, and your actions will reflect on the institution and the nation as a whole.”

“Go forth and serve with honor, dignity, and respect for all Nigerians. Congratulations on your graduation,” Tinubu charged the graduands.

Speaking earlier, the commandant of the Academy, AIG Sadiq Abubakar, stated that the 478 graduands had acquired essential knowledge and skills to improve the country’s security situation.

He noted that 17 programs offered by the academy had been accredited by the National Universities Commission, reflecting the institution’s high standards.

“I commend the Federal Government for its significant investment in these graduates, which has paved the way for today’s graduation ceremony,” he said.
