NSCDC Arrests 3 Suspects For Gangrape Of Minor In Ibadan

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Oyo State has arrested three individuals accused of gang-raping a minor, News About Nigeria.

The state Commandant, Augustine Padonu, presented the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Ibadan, revealing that the 16-year-old victim was impregnated and forced to undergo an abortion.

The suspects, ranging in age from 18 to 43, allegedly collaborated to commit the crime on multiple occasions in June at Oranyan area of Ibadan.

The oldest suspect, a commercial driver, took the victim to an unlicensed nurse to perform the abortion, and the nurse has also been apprehended.

Additionally, a 19-year-old suspect was paraded for allegedly raping his employer’s nine-year-old daughter.

Three more suspects were arrested for allegedly defrauding a victim of N17 million under the guise of processing a visa.

The command’s Tracking Unit apprehended a 42-year-old suspect in Ikorodu, who, along with two accomplices, opened bank accounts in three different banks to defraud their victim.

Three other suspects were paraded for defrauding a store owner of N738,670.

The Commandant assured that all suspects would face charges in court after thorough investigations.

In April, the Ebonyi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, arrested three minors for alleged attempt to rape another minor.

The State Commandant of the Corps, Elijah Willie, who revealed this said two of the suspects are aged 15 and 13.

He added that the command was on the heels of a third suspect, currently on the run, adding that the incident occurred at Ishielu Local Government Area of the state.
