Suspected Kidnappers Arrested In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has stated that it has arrested three suspected kidnappers terrorising residents of the Ikorodu area of the state, identified as Taiwo Olayinka (30), Azeez Sodiq (33), and Saheed Moonstruck (23), for attempting to rob a car dealer, News About Nigeria reports.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement on his X handle on Wednesday.

While responding to a video shared on X.com by a user who tweets anonymously as X_DailyTrends, Hundeyin stated that the suspects attempted to kidnap a car dealer at Ebute-Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu, on Tuesday before they were caught.

He noted that the suspects have been in custody since shortly after the incident on Tuesday, adding that efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining two who escaped arrest.

The video, captioned “These boys tried to kidnap a car dealer today at Ebute Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu,” prompted Hundeyin to confirm that the arrested individuals are suspected thieves or kidnappers, and the investigation will determine the exact nature of their crimes.

He wrote, “Three suspects, Taiwo Olayinka 30, Azeez Sodiq 33 and Saheed Moonstruck 23, have been in our custody since yesterday, shortly after the incident, and efforts are on to arrest the remaining two suspects that escaped. Meanwhile, investigation has commenced.

“The three arrested are the suspected thieves or kidnappers (investigation would tell which).”

The suspects were stripped naked and were begging for mercy in the video.

Netizens have, however, reacted to the arrest.

@Adesanyajnr said, “No pity for them. If you’ve been harassed and obtained by these miscreants, you won’t have a single sympathy for them.

Another tweep, @Ojodale46 wrote, “They must pay for their actions I love this.
