Obaseki Meets PDP Leaders To Strategise For Edo Governorship Election

The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has convened a strategic meeting with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders from all 18 local government areas to prepare for the upcoming governorship election.

The gathering, held at the New Festival Hall in Benin City, brought together key stakeholders, including the Deputy Governor, Chief of Staff, Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, and various party officials.

Governor Obaseki expressed gratitude to the party leaders for their dedication and unity, acknowledging their efforts in electing the PDP governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

He praised Ighodalo’s attributes, intelligence, and integrity, expressing confidence in his ability to excel as the next governor of Edo State.

With the election just 60 days away, Obaseki highlighted the party’s preparedness, citing the establishment of the State Campaign Council, Local Governments Campaign Council, and ward campaign teams.

He also noted the successful upload of party agents’ names into the INEC portal.

The meeting aimed to brief party leaders on political activities leading up to the election, ensuring a unified and strong campaign.

In his remarks, Obaseki emphasised the significance of the election, urging party leaders to work together to ensure victory.

He expressed confidence in the party’s chances, stating, “We are the only party in the state, and I am not afraid; we will win the election.” The meeting concluded with a sense of determination and unity among party leaders, ready to face the upcoming election with a strong and coordinated campaign.
