Report On Jos School Building Collapse Reveals Use of Substandard Materials

A father and mother have passed away following the heartbreaking loss of their four children, who died in the school building collapse on Friday in Jos, Plateau State.

News About Nigeria reported that a two-storey building belonging to Saint Academy collapsed while students were writing exams in the early hours of Friday.

According to reports, the tragedy claimed the lives of 26 people while 132 others were left injured and have been hospitalised.

It was also gathered that the mother of the children who first got the news of the demise of her children died a few minutes after she got the news, while the father, upon hearing the tragedy also gave up the ghost instantly.

A reliable source on X @TrendingXEx wrote, “Plateau State is trending because a two storey school building housing over 200+ students excluding staffs, collapsed this morning around 11am in Jos, during examinations. Tragically, four siblings from one parent all died. When the news got to their mother, she died minutes later. Unfortunately, when the father was informed of the tragedy, he also died instantly. 26 deaths have been confirmed so far, while the critically injured lot are in the hospital.”

Similarly, the National Blood Service Commission and the Plateau State government have issued an emergency appeal for voluntary blood donors in the Jos metropolis to save the lives of the pupils who were rescued from the collapsed school building in Jos.

The blood donation, according to them, is to help save the lives of the many hospitalized children.
