A tragic incident occurred in Marrarraban Gwoza, Borno State, on Saturday, resulting in the loss of at least seven lives.
News About Nigeria reports that the victims were attacked by two suspected suicide bombers while returning from a wedding ceremony.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication, the first suicide bomber, a young woman in her early 20s, detonated her explosive near a motor park.
The attack occurred as the wedding guests were leaving the ceremony, causing devastating consequences.
Many of the injured victims were rushed to the hospital in Gwoza for medical attention.
The suicide bomber was identified as a female in her early 20s, according to reports.
The incident has left the community in mourning, with many lives lost and others injured.
Also, another bomber, disguised as a mourner, detonated an explosive in Gwoza LGA as residents were preparing for the burial of those killed in the first attack.
Makama said one person reportedly died and 16 others were injured during the attack.
The publication added that Yusuf Lawal, Borno commissioner of police, confirmed the incident.
Meanwhile, the military has imposed a curfew in Gwoza LGA to enable them to secure the town from any further threat.
The number of dead persons cannot be immediately ascertained, but the number of persons who were injured are receiving treatment at the General Hospital in Gwoza.
Security agencies are also yet to comment on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
