Auto Crash Claim Two Lives In Lagos-Ibadan Expressway 

An auto crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has claimed the lives of two people, leaving two others with injuries, News About Nigeria reports. 

The spokesperson of the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Florence Okpe, disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday.

She noted that the accident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning, at Kara, along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, adding that it involved a blue Peugeot bus with registration number WRA224XA and an orange DAF truck with registration number ANC711XA.

According to her, the two vehicles collided as a result of excessive speed and consequent loss of control.

She disclosed that a team from FRSC Ibafo Command at Kara, had carried out the rescue mission.

She further noted that the injured victims have been taken to the nearest hospital, while the corpses of the deceased have been handed over to their families.

“Rescue operation was carried out today, Tuesday, 25th June 2024, by a team from FRSC Ibafo Command at Kara, on a crash that occurred at about 0530 hours.”

“The crash involved two vehicles with the following details: a blue Peugeot bus with registration number WRA224XA and an orange DAF truck with registration number ANC711XA.”

“Male Adults were involved in the crash. Two out of the persons involved were killed, while the other 2 were injured.”

“The injured victims were taken to the nearest hospital, and the corpses were handed over to the families of the deceased. (Hausa community)

“The suspected cause of the crash was speed and loss of control, which led to the rear collision of the two vehicles,” she stated.

This is coming barely hours after another crash occurred around the Ogere area of the Expressway, which killed seven people and left 11 others with varying degrees of injuries.

This earlier accident, which occurred on Monday night, involved a Mazda bus with registration number MNY894 and a truck with no number plate. The Mazda bus, due to excessive speed, reportedly lost control and rammed into the truck from behind.
