In the early hours of this morning, a club in Gwarimpa, Abuja, was attacked by armed robbers, resulting in the tragic death of a local DJ known as DJ Bash.
The incident occurred near the Volcano Peak Hotel on 4th Avenue, Gwarinpa, News About Nigeria reports.
Despite the proximity of a police station to the scene, the police were not alerted promptly. SP Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), confirmed the attack and stated that investigations have commenced.
“We were not alerted on time, but we are on top of the situation. We advise residents to always be conscious of their surroundings. When you notice suspicious activity, call the police immediately, and we will respond swiftly,” SP Adeh said.
The police have urged residents to use the FCT Police distress and emergency numbers (0803 200 3913, 0806 158 1938) in such situations.
Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants also robbed the club, stealing valuables from guests. Some guests were able to track a stolen phone, but they expressed frustration over the perceived slow response of the police in following up on the lead.
Abuja Streets, a local social media account, shared the incident, calling for intervention from higher authorities.
They tagged the official accounts of the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant officials, seeking swift action.
The FCT Police have reassured the public of their commitment to resolving the case and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Residents are reminded to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police immediately. The community mourns the loss of DJ Bash and calls for enhanced security measures to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
