Four notorious kidnappers have been apprehended by operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command, News About Nigeria reports.
This was disclosed by the spokesperson of the Command in Kaduna State, ASP Mansir Hassan, on Tuesday in the state capital.
He revealed that the kidnappers took part in several kidnappings in the Northwest, adding that the arrest was made on May 29, 2024.
He stated that the Command had acted on a tip-off from a concerned citizen, after which a joint patrol team comprising officers from the Saminaka Division and the Hunters Group in Lere Local Government Area were deployed to the scene.
Hassan said that three suspects involved in kidnapping and cattle rustling were successfully arrested.
The suspects were identified as; Isah Baffa Rabo, male, 30 years old, from Maibindiga Village, Lere LGA, implicated in kidnappings for ransom in Zango Kataf LGA and Kachia LGA, Ja’afaru Sale, male, 30 years old, from Durumi Village, Lere LGA and Imar Musa, male, 24 years old, from Durumi Village, Lere LGA.
The Command also stated that the suspects, upon interrogation, confessed to being a part of kidnapping syndicate in Lere LGA and admitted to rustling two cattle, which they sold to Idris Abubakar, male, 47 years old, from Dokan Lere, who was also arrested.
Items recovered include a locally made single-barrel gun, a cutlass, and three mobile phones.
Hassan stated that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
He assured the people that the command is committed to protecting the lives and properties of the citizens and will ensure that the suspects face the full wrath of the law.
