Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, has returned to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following a four-day working visit to Lagos State, where he unveiled several projects, News About Nigeria reports.
Tinubu departed from the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at 11:43 am on Monday.
The President received a send-off from Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and various government officials.
During his visit, which began on Friday, Tinubu inaugurated the N15 trillion Lagos-Calabar coastal highway, designed to connect nine states along Nigeria’s coastline.
Additionally, he opened the reconstructed Apapa-Oworonshoki-Ojota Expressway and the rehabilitated Third Mainland Bridge.
He also virtually launched the rehabilitation of 330 roads and bridges nationwide.
Back in Abuja, Tinubu is set to inaugurate several infrastructure projects as part of activities marking his first year in office.
Meanwhile, Paul Ibe, media adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has stated that there is nothing to celebrate about the past year of Tinubu’s administration.
While speaking in an interview with newsmen, he said that the past year has been a total waste.
Ibe noted that the past year has been all about propaganda by the All Progressive Congress (APC), adding that if there was anything tangible, it would be visible in the lives of Nigerians.
He maintained that all that has been visible in the past year is the shattered hopes of the people and the renewed hopelessness that has continued under the Buhari-led administration.
“It’s been one year of waste and shattered hopes. There is nothing to celebrate; even the process of rendering accounts by ministers is a waste of resources.
“They claim it is renewed hope, but what we’ve seen in the last year is renewed hopelessness. The hopelessness that started with the Muhammadu Buhari administration is a continuation of that government,” he stated.
