On Monday, the Katsina State Government called on the public to address Governor Dikko Umaru Radda with the title “Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).”
News About Nigeria reports that this request was made following the receipt of the certificate of conferment from the office of the Secretary to the Federal Government.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed on Monday, it was revealed that the CON award was conferred on Governor Radda by former President Muhammadu Buhari on May 25, 2023, in recognition of his contributions to Nigeria.
“The award was conferred upon Governor Radda on May 25, 2023, by former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari in recognition of his outstanding virtues and service to the nation. This national honour serves as a testament to his tireless efforts and commitment to the well-being of the Nigerian people,” Mohammed stated.
The statement also mentioned that the formal investiture ceremony for Governor Radda will be held on a date to be announced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Governor Radda expressed his gratitude for the honour, attributing it to the collective efforts of the Katsina State Government and its citizens.
“I am humbled to receive this prestigious honour in recognition of the hard work and dedication of the entire Katsina State Government and its people,” Governor Radda said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Katsina State and contributing to Nigeria’s progress.
The statement concluded with a request for the public to recognise Governor Radda’s new title.
