Fmr Rep Calls For Resignation Of Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has saluted Nigerian workers on the occasion of Workers’ Day, praising their dedication and hard work in keeping the nation running.

The Nigerian leader made the remark in a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, News About Nigeria reports.

In the statement, President Tinubu celebrated workers across various fields, including clerical officers, security personnel, teachers, doctors, and all others, acknowledging their tireless efforts and patriotic zeal.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare, citing initiatives like the recent wage award and the impending minimum wage review.

The statement read, “The President affirms that his administration remains committed to improving the welfare of all workers, noting the various relief programmes, including the wage award and the imminent minimum wage review.

“President Tinubu strongly believes that the custodians of the nation’s machinery deserve a fair wage and enhanced welfare and that a labourer is deserving of not just any reward but fair and commensurate wages.

“The President assures Nigerian workers of his dedication to not only improving their welfare but also enhancing their working conditions and providing the necessary tools for them to succeed.”

It can be recalled that the federal government approved a pay raise of between 25 and 35 percent for civil servants on Tuesday.

The affected salary structures include the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS), Consolidated Research and Allied Institutions Salary Structure (CONRAISS), Consolidated Police Salary Structure (CONPOSS), Consolidated Para-military Salary Structure (CONPASS), Consolidated Intelligence Community Salary Structure (CONICCS), and Consolidated Armed Forces Salary Structure (CONAFSS).

It’s worth noting that civil servants in the tertiary education and health sectors had already received similar increases earlier, which covered salary structures such as CONUASS, CONTISS, CONPCASS, CONTEDISS, CONMESS, and CONHESS.
