Police Begins Investigation Into Aiyedatiwa's Campaign Coordinator's Murder

The Ondo State Police Command has revealed that a proper investigation is now underway to ascertain the cause of the death of Alaba Abe, one of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s campaign coordinators, who was murdered on Saturday evening.

News About Nigeria gathered that Abe was assassinated by gunmen in front of his house at Supare Akoko, Akoko South-West Area of the state, on Saturday evening.

The tragic incident happened a week after the Ondo State Governor emerged as the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

Before he met with his untimely death, Abe served as the returning officer for the party’s primary at Ward 10 in the council area.

Speaking on the tragic incident, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, who confirmed Abe’s death, announced that the command has begun an investigation into the matter.

While mourning the deceased, the police PRO noted that the Force would ensure that they caught the perpetrators of the heinous act and brought them to justice.

“The command is aware of the incident at Supare; an investigation is ongoing to unravel all that happened,” she stated.

Also, in a statement released on Sunday, the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers Independent Council condemned the killing of Abe while calling for proper investigation and justice.

They further prayed for the repose of the soul of the dead and that God would give his family, the Ondo APC, and others connected to him the fortitude to bear the ‘irreplaceable’ loss.
