Yahaya Bello: Bwala Calls For EFCC Reform

A lawyer and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Daniel Bwala, has dispelled rumours linking him to the bullied female student of Lead British International School in Abuja, News About Nigeria reports.

The incident, which gained widespread attention after a distressing video was shared on social media by user @mooyeeeeeee on Monday night, showed a student identified as Namtira Bwala being physically assaulted by her classmates within the school premises.

In the footage, Bwala endured 18 slaps from another female student while being repeatedly interrogated, “Who broke my heart?”

Additionally, she was subjected to further violence in one of the school’s empty halls in another clip.

Speculations arose suggesting that the girl was related to Daniel Bwala due to their shared surname.

However, Daniel Bwala swiftly refuted the rumours, clarifying that Namtira is not his daughter, nor does he have any children enrolled in the said school.

Despite acknowledging the commendable restraint exhibited by the girl in the video, Bwala said that his own children would have defended themselves if faced with a similar situation.

Addressing the matter, Bwala stated, “My attention has been drawn to a viral video circulating on all social media platforms alleging that my daughter was bullied or assaulted. For the records, the young girl in the video is not my daughter, I do not know her, nor do I have any of my children studying in that school.”

Expressing his concerns over the incident, Bwala said he has reported the matter to law enforcement authorities.

“However, I have myself reported the incident to law enforcement because it could have been anybody’s daughter, since  violence and bullying is not acceptable in our society.”
