Ganduje Reacts To Suspension Attempt

The former governor of Kano State, Senator Abdullahi Ganduje, has reacted to the attempt by executives of his ward to suspend him from his position as the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), News About Nigeria reports.

He insisted that he remained in charge of the party and that the plans to move him would not succeed.

This is coming after Justice A. M. Liman of the Federal High Court in Kano stopped his suspension.

Recall that the Court had restrained all the respondents and their agents from implementing the decisions reached at the executive meeting of the APC, which was held at the Ganduje Ward of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area on April 15, 2024, pending the determination and hearing of his substantive application for the enforcement of his fundamental rights.

Reacting to this, Ganduje noted that Governor Abba Yusuf of the NNPP planned to use his suspension as a means to weaken the APC in the state ahead of the 2027 general election and other electoral contests.

According to him, Governor Yusuf and his cohorts are concerned that the APC will produce the highest votes and repeat the same feat that was achieved for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu again.

“In fact, what is happening is that it is an incursion into our political party by the NNPP government of Kano in order to destroy our party.

“We are battle-ready to take over their government. They are concerned that Kano produces the highest votes. They are so concerned that we will repeat the same feat for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu again. We will ensure that in 2027, there is no vacancy for any presidential candidate from Kano and from Nigeria,” he stated.

He maintained that the governor is out to create confusion in the party to ensure that they do not have the courage to take over the governance of the state and promised to foil all their attempts.
