A man, identified as Chizoke Obiadada, and his teenage son, identified as Michael, have been arrested by officers of the Ogun State Police Command for beating the wife of their neighbour, identified as Tope Owoade, to death, News About Nigeria reports.
The spokesperson for the state police command, SP Omolola Odutola, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
It was reported that the unfortunate incident took place on Thursday, March 28, 2024, in the Sagamu Local Government Area of the state.
The 54-year-old man and his 17-year-old son were both arrested after the deceased’s husband, Isiaka, reported the incident to the police at the Ogijo Divisional Headquarters.
It was gathered that Obiadada and his son engaged the deceased in a fight after insisting that nobody should sit at a table where she used to sell cow skin, popularly known as “ponmo”.
Recounting the incident to the police, the husband of the deceased, Owoade, told the police that when he returned from a journey, his late wife informed him that on the previous day,  Chizoke and his son, Michael, his known neighbours, beat her up mercilessly by inflicting fatal injuries on her.
He stated that the beating resulted in his wife bleeding profusely from her womb and private parts.
