The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) on Tuesday debunked news making the rounds on social media that veteran Nollywood actor, Zack Orji, is dead.
Reports had emerged on social media on Tuesday that the ailing thespian had died.
The rumour came following the death of two veteran Nollywood actors, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu and his colleague, Amaechi Mounagor.
The two Nollywood stars succumbed to death this month after prolonged battles with sickness which became terrible last year.
Reacting to the rumour, the National President of AGN, Emeka Rollas, refuted the rumour on the grounds that it was fake and unfounded lies.
He also urged the public to disregard the rumours, saying the actor is alive.
Rollas who cleared the air about the actor in a post on his Instagram account, added that such rumours shows that some people are wicked and only pray for evil for others.
He also prayed that his colleague will not die but will fully recover and also fulfill his days.
He wrote, “Mr Zack Orji is alive. Please ignore misschief makers who enjoy circulating fake news. This is to show how wicked some people can be. It is totally unacceptable. He will not die but live to declare the good works of God in Jesus’ name.”
News About Nigeria recalls that the actor was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the National Hospital in Abuja on New Year’s Eve.
This is after he reportedly slumped in the toilet after being quite weak for a few weeks.
