Amaechi Muonagor: Kanayo O Kanayo Mourns Colleague

Veteran Nollywood actor Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, who is popularly known as Kanayo O. Kanayo, took to his official Instagram account on Monday to mourn his friend and colleague, Amaechi Muonagor, who died over the weekend at the age of 62.

In the post shared on the photo-sharing app, Kanayo shared a photo of the deceased, accompanied by a caption reminiscing about their time together on set as actors.

In the post, the veteran actor, who is fondly called ‘nnayi sacrifice,’ recalled how he constantly expressed fear whenever Amaechi Muonagor engaged in any acrobatic summersault, which he did exceptionally well despite his age.

He also mentioned how there was never a dull moment with Amaechi around, as he brought liveliness on set and did his best to preserve their cultural values.

Kanayo also prayed that his friend and colleague should rest in peace, adding that God knows why he called him at such a time.

He wrote, “Iyi, I was always afraid whenever you did your acrobatic somersault. It was indeed outstanding despite your weight. You would always say. Nwokem, o taa, meaning, you grew up doing it. On set, there was no dull moment as you did your best to preserve our Igbo culture. God knows why he called you now.Good night dear brother. RIP”

News About Nigeria reported that the veteran Nollywood actor kicked the bucket despite all efforts to save him.

Just last week, a video emerged where the actor was soliciting help from Nigerians as his health had degenerated, and he was in dire need of financial support to undergo a kidney transplant in India.
