Police Arrest Two Over Murder, Fraud In Adamawa

In the last two weeks, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has reported the successful arrest of 92 armed robbery suspects and 153 others involved in kidnappings, News About Nigeria reports.

Additionally, 35 kidnapped victims were successfully rescued during various operations conducted across the country.

The police force also revealed that seven stolen vehicles were recovered, nine suspected cultists were arrested, and 44 arms and 477 rounds of ammunition of various calibers were confiscated from different commands and formations.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed these achievements during a press briefing held at the Intelligence Response Team Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.

Adejobi expressed confidence in the collaborative efforts of various NPF formations, stating that the force is committed to creating a more secure and peaceful Nigeria.

He said, “As we continue to strengthen our investigative capabilities and collaborate with our law enforcement partners, we remain steadfast in our mission to uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of every citizen in the country. We are confident that the aggregate of our efforts towards combating crime will herald a more secure and peaceful Nigeria.”

As part of the press briefing, 26 suspects were paraded for various charges, ranging from criminal conspiracy to illegal manufacture of firearms.

Items displayed during the briefing included seven recovered AK-47 rifles, nine automatic pistols, 1,804 rounds of live ammunition, a point-of-sale machine, assorted illicit drugs, and a Mazda saloon car.

The suspects are set to undergo further investigations and interrogations, with plans for prompt prosecution in accordance with the law.
