FCT Police Arrest Wanted Kidnapper With N20m Bounty On His Head

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has successfully arrested Samaila Wakili Fafa, also known as Habu Ibrahim, the second of the two wanted kidnappers for whom FCT Minister Nyesom Wike had placed a N20 million bounty, News About Nigeria reports.

The arrest, made on February 24, 2024, at approximately 7:05 pm, followed credible intelligence and a coordinated operation by police operatives in Sardauna Forest, Toto, Nasarawa State.

Earlier, on February 14, 2024, Wike had declared a N20 million bounty on the heads of two wanted bandits, Dahiru Adamu and Abu Ibrahim, who were reportedly terrorising Abuja.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh, received this declaration during a parade of 23 criminal suspects at the FCT Police Command Headquarters in Garki, Abuja.

The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the FCT Police Command had previously arrested Saidu Abdulkadir, aka Dahiru Adamu, on February 15, 2024, following a raid on two kidnappers’ camps located on the border of Nasarawa and Abuja via Kuje Area Council.

In a statement released by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, it was revealed that Samaila Wakili Fafa, upon his arrest, confessed to his involvement in several kidnappings within the FCT and its environs.

This included the abduction of Barrister Chris Agidy, legal aid to Senator Ned Nwoko, and Mr. Sunday Yahaya Zakwai, the district head of Ketti Village, both of whom were later killed.

Samaila Wakili Fafa cooperated with the police, leading them to the location of the remains of Barrister Chris Agidy, which were subsequently recovered and deposited at Gwagwalada General Hospital.

The FCT Police Commissioner, CP Benneth Igweh, said he is committed to combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents.

Investigations into the criminal activities of the syndicate are ongoing.

The FCT Police assured the public of their dedication to maintaining security and combating criminality in the region.
