A popular kidnap Kingpin, identified as Musa Wada-Magaji, aka Sabo, has been killed by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Bureau and Intelligence Response Team in the Federal Capital Territory, News About Nigeria reports.

This was disclosed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Saturday.

Adejobi stated that the kidnapping Kingpin and several others were neutralized in the Mpape area of Abuja following an attack on their hideouts by police officers.

He noted that Wada, who was also known as Sabo, was the mastermind behind numerous kidnappings for ransom activities plaguing areas including Mpape and Bwari in the FCT; Kagarko in Kaduna; Masaka; and Nukun Village in Nasarawa State.

He further disclosed that the camps of the kidnappers were also destroyed, adding that during the duel, the armed bandits engaged the police operatives in a gun battle that lasted for about 30 minutes, which left many of the bandits fatally injured, while one of the police operatives sustained bullet wounds.

Adejobi also noted that several items had been recovered from the kidnappers’ hideout, including mobile phones, multiple SIM cards, charms, and hard drugs, among others, and maintained that efforts are on to recover additional arms, ammunition, and other equipment they use for their nefarious operations.

He further assured the residents of the Federal Capital that the Nigeria Police Force will continue to fight crime and ensure the safety and security of all citizens, and will also continue to employ proactive measures to dismantle criminal networks and bring perpetrators of heinous crimes to justice, against all odds.
