Amotekun Parades 27 Suspected Criminals In Ondo

In a bid to secure the release of the five pupils and four members of staff of the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools in Emure-Ekiti that were abducted on Monday, the Ondo State Amotekun has deployed 100 of its personnel to Ekiti State, News About Nigeria reports.

Their deployment was made known by the Amotekun commander in the state, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, while parading 31 suspected criminals in Akure, the Ondo State Capital.

According to the commander, the governor of the state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, gave the directive for the deployment of the personnel for them to partner with their neighbour, Ekiti State, in these trying times.

He further noted that the Ondo Amotekun would work with their Ekiti counterparts to secure the release of the victims and the arrests of the perpetrators of the abduction and the killers of the monarchs.

Speaking on security in Ondo State, Adeleye assured residents of the state that the Amotekun will continue to do everything possible to ensure that their lives and properties are protected.

He further noted that they would be on guard to wade off any intruder that wants to come into the state, track all criminals from the cities to the forestry reserves, and ensure that residents and even travellers can move unmolested.

The Amotekun boss also revealed that they can perform well in Ondo State because they collaborate with the police, DSS, Civil Defence, and the Nigerian Army.

Adeleye also stated that to tackle the insecurity that is becoming the order of the day in various parts of the Federation, the government at the centre must approve the creation of state police.

He further stated that the decentralisation of the security system in the country will allow states to adequately manage their security affairs.
