Popular comedian Ayo Makun, also known as AY Makun, has filed a petition against a Facebook user identified as Agozi Samuel for criminal defamation, cyberstalking, and accusing him of being the cause of the marital crisis of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, News About Nigeria reports.
AY disclosed this in a post on his Facebook account on Monday, stating that people should start taking responsibility for their actions on social media.
He noted that Agozi Samuel, through his Facebook account, Agozi Comedy, had accused him of having an extramarital affair with May Edochie, the wife of actor Yul Edochie, and hence was responsible for the marital crisis between the couple.
According to the petition, in the four-minute, thirty-second video posted by Agozi, which he titled “AY comedian, where is your wife” and made public on Saturday, January 20, 2024, the Facebook user made false and baseless statements.
Ay noted that the accusation of the Facebook user was capable of causing annoyance, insult, enmity, hatred, public outrage, and needless anxiety to him and his family and exposing him to hatred and public ridicule.
The actor added that he had never heard of the user or had any encounter with him before the incident.
In his publication, Agozi accused AY of being involved in an extramarital affair with one, May Edochie, the wife of Yul Edochie, and was therefore responsible for the marital crisis between May and her husband.
The publication read in part, “You slept with May. Because of you, Yul Edochie and his wife separated because you’re having an affair with Yul Edochie’s wife which is May. The general public did not know what was happening even the Court case that is going on the general public did not know.”
“I told you on the 31st night that in 2024, I will be the one to bring you down. For you to bring down a home that lasted for many years, you made them separated, you made the wife live differently and the husband. What are you looking for in somebody’s wife that your wife does not have?
“Your plan now is to go and marry May. I know all your plans, you want to go and marry May. You think I don’t know?”
