President Bola Tinubu has eulogised former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, as he clocks 50 today (Monday).
In a statement released on Sunday night by the President’s Spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu lauded Omokri for his consistency in ensuring that he gives constructive and unbiased criticism on national issues.
The president also added that regardless of Omokri’s political affiliation as a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), he always ensures that he is sound and unbiased in his opinion because he is primarily concerned about nation-building.
The statement partly reads, “For his dutifulness in providing constructive opinions on national issues, regardless of his political disposition. President Tinubu wishes Mr. Omokri many more years in good health as he continues to contribute his quota to national development.”
Omokri, who is also an author and motivational speaker, is a member of the opposition PDP and served as the Special Assistant on Digital Media to former President Goodluck Jonathan from 2011 to 2015.
Despite Omokri’s political affiliation, he has been consistent in supporting President Tinubu’s administration and its style of governance.
During the President’s Chicago State University (CSU) Certificate Saga, he stood for Tinubu, abandoning Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of his party, who was leading the fight to ascertain whether the President forged his certificate or not.
News About Nigeria recalls that the former aide also went as far as going to CSU to confirm whether the certificate submitted by the President to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the 2023 presidential election was from the school or not.
Upon his return, Omokri stood his ground for Tinubu, proving that he indeed attended CSU and obtained the certificate from the school.
One of his tweets shared then partly reads, “On September 19, I visited @ChicagoState University to verify that Bola Tinubu attended and graduated.”
