Two children, identified as Amirat Adeniyi and Khadijat, have been reported missing in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State, News About Nigeria reports.
The father of the missing children, Rasheed Adeniji, who raised the alarm on Monday, stated that he suspected it to be a case of kidnapping, lamenting that his family has not been able to get over the shock of the incident.
Recounting the sad occurrence, Mr. Rasheed disclosed that his children had gone missing on New Year’s Eve at their residence at Mobil Road, Ajegunle-Apapa, Lagos.
He said, according to the person who saw them last, the children were playing in the compound and after some time, said they were going to buy biscuits, but the person who saw them asked them to go back after he saw them with N50 notes.
He stated that the children have not been seen since then, lamenting that the second child is his neighbour’s and has not even clocked 2 yet, while his daughter is four years old.
He, therefore, appealed to Nigerians with information about the whereabouts of the children to come to his aid and help rescue the children and bring them back to their families safely.
He added that they have been to several police stations, but there has been no positive outcome.
The Divisional Police Officer at Amukoko in the area where the incident was reported, Bawa Malik, said he would collaborate with other stations on the matter and ensure that the children are brought back to their families.
“We learnt it happened at Ajegunle but we have not gotten anything yet,” he said.
