Passage Of 2024 Budget Deliberate - Akpabio

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has disclosed that it deliberately passed the 2024 budget before the end of the year, stating that it was for the good of Nigerians, News About Nigeria reports.

The President made this known in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, on Sunday.

He noted that the passage of the Appropriation Bill was to ensure immediate implementation of the bill and improve the quality of life for Nigerians.

He noted that passing the Appropriation Bill was also a fulfilment of a promise made with the federal government, which will pave the way for the assent of the president and ensure that there is an immediate commencement of its implementation in the New Year so that Nigerians can begin to feel the impact of the President Tinubu-led government.

According to him, the Senate is not unaware of the plight of Nigerians and has therefore factored it into the 2024 Appropriation Bill, ensuring that every one of its decisions is aimed at improving the standard of living of the citizens and making things easy for them.

He expressed his appreciation for the fact that Nigerians have entrusted their confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration, promising that this administration will not fail to reciprocate their kind gesture.

He further expressed his optimism that things will change for the better for Nigerians, assuring the people that his administration will surely deliver on the promises that have been made.

“The President is committed, the National Assembly is intentional, the Renewed Hope Agenda is real and we will not fail you,” he said.
