I Didn’t Propose N80,000 Minimum Wage For Rivers State Workers — Fubara
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has stated that the peace pact proposed by President Bola Tinubu to bring an end to the ongoing political crisis in the state is not a death sentence, News About Nigeria reports.
In a statewide broadcast on Monday, the governor noted that he is committed to ensuring that the comprehensive presidential peace agreement is fully implemented, maintaining that no price is too high for peace to prevail in the region.
According to Fubara, as a principal participant in the entire saga and after carefully going through the peace pact, he has discovered that it is not as bad as it is being portrayed by those who are genuinely opposed to it.
He, therefore, reaffirmed that he fully accepts the proclamation of peace by the president and will give his utmost commitment to ensure that he implements both the spirit and letters of the declaration in such a way and manner that will restore political stability to the state without compromising the collective interest of the people of Rivers and their cherished and shared democratic values.
While commending the efforts of President Bola Tinubu in seeing that peace is restored in the state, Governor Fubara noted that the president has demonstrated the great love he has for the people of Rivers, adding that the president wished for nothing more than a reign of perfect peace in the state which is in tandem with his Presidential Peace Proclamation on December 18, 2023.
He also disclosed that in the coming year, lots of projects in the state will be completed.
