A supply chain consultant and expert, Jude Oboh, has tasked stakeholders with fostering collaboration, stating that this will enhance infrastructure investment in the country, News About Nigeria reports.
Oboh made this call while speaking in a recent media briefing, stating that regulators are partners in business growth and therefore there was a need for them to collaborate more with manufacturers and other stakeholders to seek ways to support businesses to meet regulatory requirements rather than being seen as major hindrances.
He noted that the work of regulators should not be reduced to revenue collection agencies, adding that the habit of setting fiscal year revenue targets for regulatory agencies in the trade and manufacturing sector should be stopped, as this contradicts the essence of setting these agencies up.
He further stated that capital is precious, and every money that is invested in supply chain infrastructure contributes to the growth and development of the economy, maintaining that investing in the manufacturing industry will help it attain its potential in contributing to the growth of Nigeria.
He therefore urged stakeholders to create a collaborative atmosphere, which will in turn foster joint stakeholder capability development and help in bridging the capability gap among supply chain professionals in the country.
He also charged them to get used to the idea of using more technology in addition to being receptive to the automation of their processes, as this, according to him, will lead to knowledge sharing and reapplication of best practices, which is in turn an opportunity that can be harnessed.
