In a statement by the Student Union President, Ogunsanya Bamidele, and Public Relations Officer, Ojo Mercy, released on Thursday, the students were directed to hold off making payments till further notice.
The statement read in part, “The recent decision by the school management to increase school fees is not taken lightly.
The student union body has kicked against the hike in tuition fees by the management of the institution.
The union while acknowledging the worsening effect of the economy in the country, maintained that education is an important aspect and therefore should not be treated as a mere business venture.
They maintained that students were not to be treated as a source of revenue, stressing that the Union was against any form of increment in the tuition fees.
They added that the school management in these trying times, should make the quest for lasting solutions that will be of benefit to every student, its priority rather than compromising the accessibility of Education with financial barriers.
