I’m Not With Portable For Money – Ashabi Simple

Actress Akinyanju Omobolarinde, better known by her stage name Ashabi Simple, has disclosed that she is not in a relationship with controversial artist Habeeb Okiki, also known as Portable, for financial gain.

The actress appreciated Portable’s kind actions in an interview with Saturday Beats, but she spoke about her independence as someone who had done multiple jobs and established a career in the film industry.

According to her, she has worked in different roles, including as a bus conductor, bartender, and jewellery saleswoman, before venturing into filmmaking.

“If I am dating him because of his money, I would be tired by now,” she said. “No one forces Portable to do anything, and I do not have a problem with that, because I do a lot for myself.

“I have always been like that. Before I started my clothing business, I worked as a bus conductor, bartender, and I sold pieces of jewellery before I started attending filmmaking class and working in the film industry as a manager. And, that was where I started making money.”

Ashabi admitted that she occasionally feels jealous of the other women in Portable’s life, but she also tried to remind herself that it is due to the nature of his job.

She said, “When it comes to his relationships, he is very protective. When I see him with other women, I sometimes get jealous, but I caution myself, knowing that he is a celebrity. “

Addressing Portable’s invitation to perform at the Celestial Church of God, Goshen Land Cathedral branch in Lagos, Ashabi defended the decision, stating that it was probably deliberated and approved by the church’s members in the planning committee.
