Celestial Cleric Explains Rationale Behind Inviting Portable, Pasuma

The founder of a branch of the Celestial Church of Christ in Lagos State, Aderemi Dabiri, has explained the rationale behind inviting secular musicians, Portable and Pasuma, to perform in an upcoming programme in the church, News About Nigeria reports.

While addressing a delegation of the church’s task force in a video that has gone viral, Dabiri noted that inviting the musicians to perform was a way of winning souls to God.

According to him, he has employed that style of evangelism in the past and has seen positive results, which prompted him to do it in a bigger way this time.

The celestial pastor further stated that it would not be possible for the church to go into bars and preach to the people to accept Jesus because they would likely be beaten.

According to him, bringing secular artists to church was a good way of luring the unbelievers to church, winning their souls and making them converts to the church.

He noted that most of the members of his church were cultists and notorious boys who previously disturbed the peace of the community and who were gotten through the same means.

He, however, stated that he had no plans to cancel the invitation, maintaining that the artists were not rude as opposed to their gospel counterparts.

According to him, most of the gospel artists were rude when you called them to extend invites for programmes. He mentioned that that was not the case with the secular musicians.

Recall that the church faced a lot of backlash after it posted a flyer inviting Fuji singer Pasuma, and street-hop artist Portable, to its praise night event.
