A Nigerian man identified as David Abodunde has strangled his wife, Taiwo Owoeye, to death in the United Kingdom, UK, News About Nigeria reports.
Operatives of the police force in the UK disclosed this, naming David as the sole murderer after extensive investigations.
News About Nigeria gathered that the mother of three raised an alarm, alerting the police about a case of assault by her husband on Monday, November 27.
Unfortunately, upon arrival at her residence on Tuesday, the police found Taiwo lying on the floor of her living room, not moving.
All efforts to resuscitate her failed, and upon arrival by the paramedics, she was declared dead.
The deceased’s husband, who was present in the house with her, was thereafter declared a suspect and arrested for further investigations.
He has been declared the sole murderer of his wife after extensive investigations by the UK police.
The family of the former ophthalmic nurse at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital has expressed sadness over the demise of their sister and relative and urged the police in the United Kingdom not to relent in meeting out punishments for her husband.
The deceased’s brother, Alex Owoeye, mourned her passing in a Facebook post, stating that the conclusion of the police, as regards the Ekiti-born David Olubunmi, being the sole murderer of his wife, came after extensive investigations and was made available to them through mail and direct conversations.
He further disclosed that the children of the deceased were currently under the shelter of the UK social services.
Owoeye called for calm, assuring members of his family that justice would be served in due course.
The late Taiwo and her estranged husband, Olubunmi Abodunde, have three male children: David (16), Daniel (14), and Jetemi (11).
