Popular comedian Onyebuchi Ojieh, widely known as Buchi, took to his Instagram account on Monday to announce that he has been granted full access to his children.
News About Nigeria gathered that Buchi shared photos of himself and a video of his daughter via his Instagram page.
He expressed his joy in the caption, stating, “I have been granted full access to my kids… we’re better in all things… THANK YOU EVERYONE… the good, the bad, the ugly… Thank you, the SALAMIS, mama Azmin… Engr ISEDE #1 grandpa… Update dropping soon.”
This positive development follows Buchi’s previous social media posts in November, where he shared his frustration about being denied access to his children by his ex-wife and her parents.
He alleged that his ex-wife’s parents, who hold leadership positions in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, were preventing him from communicating with his children.
The comedian accused them of using his kids as ‘bargaining chips’ while making exorbitant financial demands.
Buchi threatened to expose his ex-wife and her family if they continued withholding access to his children, refusing to comply with their demand of $1300 for phone conversations, insisting that he earns in Naira, not dollars.
Buchi, who works in Nigeria, said that the N300,000 he sends monthly should suffice.
He mentioned that he is capable of taking care of his children, adding that they were in Nigeria under his care before being taken to the United States.
Buchi and his ex-wife, Rukky, got married in 2017 and share two children.
Rumours of marital issues surfaced in 2022, including speculation about challenges in the marriage, including alleged violence.
The comedian’s recent announcement brings a positive twist to the custody struggles he faced over the past few months.
