Air Force Debunks Bombing Kaduna Village

The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has denied the allegation that it accidentally killed some villagers during an air raid in Kaduna.

Speaking on the alleged bombing of villagers that gathered for Maulud celebration, the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, said the service had not conducted any operation in the state and its environs in the last 24 hours.

According to him, the news making the rounds that Nigerian Air Force aircraft accidentally killed innocent villagers in Kaduna is false.

He also noted that such allegation was wrong because the Air Force is not the only organisation using armed drones in the North West.

Gabkwet also noted that the Nigerian Air Force did not carry out any air operations in Kaduna State and its environs in the last 24 hours.

He therefore warned that due diligence and proper investigation must be carried out by the media before they share such unverified and false news with the public.

News About Nigeria earlier reported that many were reportedly killed in an air strike allegedly carried out by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) at Tudun Biri village in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The incident was reported to have happened around 9 pm on Sunday when villagers gathered for Maulud celebration.

A Source in the community alleged that the villagers were mistakenly bombed in the air strike with the intention that they were bandits who were migrating from neighboring Zamfara State to camp in Tudun Biri village.

According to the source, the incident created panic within the area as many residents fled from the community to neighbouring villages for fear of being caught in more bomb attacks.
