Poverty Will Leave Nigeria Soon - Tinubu Tells Senators

The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that the intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the ongoing crisis in the state is nothing but mere window dressing,  News About Nigeria reports.

The PDP, through its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kennedy Peretei, noted that the meeting was just an eyewash, maintaining that until the governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, returns to the state, any attempt to resolve the crisis will not be meaningful.

This is as the process of resolving the lingering political crisis in Ondo State remains ongoing.

Peretei expressed doubts about the positive outcome of the president’s intervention, stating that he hopes the intervention does not turn out the way the Bello Masari Reconciliation Committee set up by APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje did, where after several trips to Abuja at taxpayers’ expense, both parties returned to court after promising to withdraw all cases.

According to him, the impeachment of the Deputy Governor will no longer see the daylight, just out of respect for President Tinubu, but he maintained that as long as Akeredolu remains in hiding, it is not yet over. The cat and mouse race will continue, he said.

Recall that Tinubu had met with the leadership of the State House of Assembly and the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state at the State House, Abuja, late at night on Friday, in a bid to resolve the crisis.

The deputy governor and lawmakers had decided to sheathe their swords and embrace peace.
