FRSC Warns Public Against False Recruitment Information

Ahead of the November 11, 2023, off-cycle governorship election, the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Dauda Biu, has deployed 1,500 personnel of the Corps to Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa state each, News About Nigeria reports.

The Corps also deployed 35 vehicles, including tow trucks and ambulances, to each of the three states to ensure that residents comply with movement restrictions during the election.

This was disclosed in a statement released on Wednesday by the spokesperson of the FRSC, Bisi Kazeem.

According to the statement, the deployment is to help strengthen the enforcement of restrictions during the entire process of the election on Saturday.

Kazeem, quoting Biu, also explained that the operatives of the Corps will collaborate with men of the Nigerian Police Force, the Independent National Electoral Commission, and other security agencies in the enforcement of restrictions on vehicular movement.

The FRSC Spokesperson further noted that the Corps operatives would also be in charge of clearing obstructions from the roads, carrying out rescue operations in case of emergencies, and maintaining orderliness in polling units.

The Corps marshall, therefore, charged the personnel deployed to these states to carry out their assignments effectively and professionally.

He urged them to play an active role towards ensuring they strengthen democracy in the nation.

He also warned them to avoid any form of temptation that could lead to the abuse of the rights of electorates as they carried out their duties.

Biu further charged residents and electorates in these states to comply with all regulations and restrictions that the Corps would release for the election.
