Four Rescued From Kidnappers’ Den In Kebbi

A joint team of the Nigerian Army and vigilantes have rescued four victims of kidnappers abducted by bandits at Bangi Hill in the Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State, News About Nigeria reports. 

This was contained in a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday by Yahaya Sarki, the Special Adviser to Governor Nasir Idris on Media and Publicity.

He said the security operatives rescued the kidnap victims in a joint operation on Wednesday.

According to him, “At about 4:00 pm on November 1, 2023, gallant troops of 1 Battalion Dukku Barrack, Birnin Kebbi, in conjunction with vigilantes, conducted a fighting patrol to Bangi Hill in Suru LGA.

“During the operation, the team dislodged a large number of bandits and rescued four kidnap victims,” it said.

Among the rescuers in the statement were Malam Audu Fulani, 45; Omaru Wakiri, 14; Alhaji Malam Imam, 50; and Chaggo Garba, 19.

He added that security agencies have been successful since the crime leaders and will provide more logistical support to help them solve crimes in the state.

The statement also praised the army for its efforts to deal with the security crisis in the state, especially as regards issues of insecurity.

Lieutenant General Taurid Ragbaja declared that the Nigerian Army is the Armed Forces and claimed that the Army is for all Nigerians and should be treated as the Armed Forces.

He assured the Governor that institutions and organizations working in the state will do their part to ensure safety and security for the economic growth and development of the state and the great country.
