Afrobeats sensation Davido has broken his silence on the ongoing dispute with fellow artiste Dammy Krane over alleged unpaid royalties.
News About Nigeria gathered that the dispute, which dates back to 2022, centres around Dammy Krane’s claim that Davido has not paid him for his contributions to the single ‘Pere.’
Dammy Krane publicly called out Davido on social media, stating that he had made efforts to resolve the matter by reaching out for split sheets and outstanding payments but received no response.
In one post on X (formerly Twitter), he emphasised the need for Davido to settle the outstanding debt.
“I know it is hard for Rich people to pay debts but @davido if not for my sake Blooda , Pay me my money atleast because of my daughter’s sake ( your niece if atall ) school fees no easy for Naija now o, na everybody de try secure their future , Na money we want no be wahala o,” Dammy Krane tweeted.
Davido, who had been ignoring these public accusations, finally responded on Friday.
Davido claimed that Dammy Krane had not paid him for three verses he provided for the artiste. He also claimed Dammy Krane hadn’t settled his dues for production services on the song ‘Pooner’.
In addition, Davido mentioned that Dammy Krane did not cover his expenses for accommodation and food when he lived in Davido’s house in Atlanta.
“I never got paid for that also my 3 verses I’ve gifted you all your dead careeer … .. oh yea plus my royalties , we charge now so that’s about $150 k x3 a verse.. also house rent and food when when u stayed in my house in Atlanta when you were homeless,” he tweeted.
