Nnanyereugo Best, also known as Killaboi, who was wanted by the police for the murder of his girlfriend, Augusta Osedion, a student of Lead City University, has been apprehended in Sierra Leone, News About Nigeria gathered.

The tragic incident unfolded on July 13, 2023, at Killaboi’s residence in Oral Estate, Ajah.

After committing the crime, he went to great lengths, spending over $25,000 to obtain a Sierra Leonean passport. He also changed his identity to Kanu Princeton Samuel.

The $25,000 was not solely for obtaining a Sierra Leonean passport but represented the cost of establishing a new life and identity for himself.

The girl’s family, in a desperate search for justice, posted Killaboi’s photo on social media, which ultimately led to his identification by someone in Sierra Leone.

Femi Falana, a human rights lawyer, was contacted, and the Lagos police subsequently declared Killaboi wanted on October 10.

The arrest occurred at a nightclub in Freetown, Sierra Leone, where Killaboi was taken into custody.

This tragic incident garnered attention in July when Killaboi confessed to the murder on his Instagram page, claiming that he had ‘mistakenly’ stabbed Augusta during a heated argument.

Augusta had gone missing for several days, leading her mother to visit Killaboi’s residence in a desperate search for her daughter.

Killaboi expressed remorse, admitting to ruining his life at the age of 26. He pledged to ensure that Augusta receives justice, as he could not live with the guilt of his actions.

He also shared a message he had sent to Augusta’s mother, offering his condolences.
