Men of the Kogi State Police Command have arrested a woman and her 19-year-old son for burying her stepson alive over the alleged theft of N1,000.

News About Nigeria gathered that the victim was, however, lucky to have survived as good samaritans were able to exhume him alive.

The incident took place on Tuesday evening, at Apamisede Community, a metropolis of Lokoja, Kogi State.

The woman had instructed her eldest son, identified as Friday, to punish her stepson for allegedly stealing her N1,000.

Friday, while executing his mother’s directive, beat his stepbrother to a pulp to the extent that the victim almost lost his two eyes before he buried him alive.

The victim was, however, rescued by neighbours.

According to the 19-year-old suspect, he was only carrying out the instructions of his mother who asked him to punish his brother for stealing her N1,000 and tried to run away as he had always done.

He also revealed that his mother had gone to the church, but she left him with the strong instruction to punish his brother before leaving.

Confirming the incident, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, William Aya, said the suspect has been arrested and is undergoing interrogation.

According to Aya, the suspect dug a pit and buried his younger brother alive, but thankfully, he was rescued by neighbours.
