The All Progressives Congress, APC, has said that President Bola Tinubu does not need to re-introduce himself to Nigerians because he does not have an identity problem, News About Nigeria reports.
The APC said this in reaction to what the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25 election, Peter Obi said during the world press conference he had on Wednesday.
Obi, whose press conference was focused on Tinubu’s academic records from Chicago State University (CSU), charged him to re-introduce himself to Nigerians and to in turn save Nigeria and Nigerians from the global embarrassment they are in as a result of his alleged certificate forgery.
Reacting to Obi, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka, in a statement said that, Tinubu does not need to re-introduce himself because he does not have any identity problem.
“President Tinubu does not need a reintroduction because he does not have any identity problem, except the one contrived by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi,” he stated.
Morka also alleged that Peter Obi read out a script written by Atiku in his bid to get the attention of the media and Nigerians alike.
“Obi only etched a script authored by Atiku at his news conference. At his press conference on Wednesday, Obi blathered on about President Tinubu’s identity and academic records, like a broken voice note of Atiku Abubakar.
“He cut a pitiful profile as though forced to read a prepared statement by his unimaginative handlers, and mendacious associates in the PDP. Unwilling to miss out in the campaign of calumny over Tinubu’s Chicago State University certificate, Obi jumped on the tailboard of Atiku’s bandwagon to satisfy his insatiable thirst for cheap media attention.”
Morka further stated that Obi’s demand that Tinubu reintroduce himself to Nigerians is unacceptable because the 8.9 million Nigerians who voted for the President in the February 25 election were aware of the choice they made.
He also condemned the disgraceful attempt by Obi, Atiku and their supporters to use mainstream and social media to intimidate the judiciary, noting that, Nigerians are now familiar with the stellar academic performance of President Tinubu as evidenced by his transcript released by Chicago State University with 18As, 10Bs and three C grades.
The APC spokesperson, therefore, called on well-meaning Nigerians to condemn this anti-democratic and irresponsible conduct by the opposition parties.
