Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has expressed his dislike for users of the microblogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, describing them as ‘mad’.
He made these remarks during a recent interview with Kiss FM in London, United Kingdom.
Burna Boy shared his perception of Twitter users, stating that he initially believed the ‘madness’ was limited to Nigerians on the platform.
However, after travelling across the world, he realised that this behaviour was a ‘global phenomenon’.
The self-acclaimed ‘African Giant’ recounted his experiences in various countries, including Kenya and South Africa, where he observed similar patterns of behaviour among Twitter users.
He also mentioned his observations in the United States, where different groups of Twitter users exhibited distinctive characteristics and affiliations.
“I don’t like people on Twitter. I used to think it was just Nigerians on Twitter that were just mad. Then, I now went to Kenya, I saw that it’s the same thing. I went to South Africa, I saw it was the same thing.
“I went to America. America, they have their own group. If you go, you’d see all of them tagged. You know how Lil Durk has his OTF? Twitter mad people for America, they’ve their own.”
He also spoke about the role late Indian rapper, Sidhu Moose Wala, played during his artistic downtime.
News About Nigeria reports that the self-styled African Giant said the late rapper was his source of inspiration when he was ‘musically exhausted’.
The ‘African Giant’ crooner said he was working on a joint project with Sidhu Moose Wala before he was assassinated in May 2022.
