A Magistrate Court situated in the Yaba area of Lagos State has ordered the remand of Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, alias Sam Larry, in police custody for a period of 21 days.
This development comes as part of the ongoing investigation into their alleged involvement in the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.
Initially, the Lagos State Police Command had requested a 30-day remand for Fashola and the other suspects to facilitate a comprehensive investigation.
However, Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun ruled in favour of a 21-day remand.
News About Nigeria reports that Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, in Lagos and was laid to rest the following day.
Subsequently, many individuals accused both Naira Marley and Sam Larry of playing a role in his untimely demise, a claim that they vehemently denied.
Mohbad’s departure from Marlian Records, which is owned by Naira Marley, occurred on a contentious note last year. His relationship with his former boss remained strained following his exit.
The Lagos State Police had invited Naira Marley and Sam Larry for questioning and subsequently arraigned them before a Magistrate’s Court in Yaba, Lagos.
The court granted the police’s request for their custody during the ongoing investigation.
In related news, the Lagos State Police Command has declared Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as Primeboy, as wanted due to his failure to respond to police invitations related to Mohbad’s death.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, disclosed this information in a statement on Wednesday.
“Following his failure to honour police invitation successfully sent to him since the commencement of the investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of Mr. Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, the Lagos State Police Command hereby declares Owodunni Ibrahim aka Primeboy wanted.”
