Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has raised eyebrows by suggesting that Naira Marley, the boss of Marlian Records, may have influential political allies supporting him.

This statement comes in the wake of Naira Marley’s recent arrest by the police for questioning regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of his former signee, Mohbad.

News About Nigeria reports that Lagos Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed Naira Marley’s arrest on Tuesday night after his return to Nigeria.

Naira Marley, in a statement on his X account, revealed that he had returned to Lagos to cooperate with the ongoing investigation, expressing his commitment to uncovering the truth and ensuring justice prevails.

However, a widely circulated video on social media depicted Naira Marley being guarded at the airport before being taken into police custody.

In response to these developments, Tonto Dikeh took to her Instagram page to voice her concerns.

She said that in a just society, Naira Marley would be in handcuffs instead of tweeting about his return on his phone.

Tonto Dikeh also questioned the source of Naira Marley’s confidence while in police custody and suggested that he might have influential political figures supporting him.

“I ask again who are those protecting Naira Marley? In the right country, he should be in handcuffs and chains, rather than having a phone to tweet.

“Naira Marley’s confidence looks to me like he has some top political underdogs by his side,” she wrote.

The controversies surrounding the death of Mohbad have led to accusations against Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, who were alleged to have played a role in the tragic incident.

Numerous videos depicting the duo bullying Mohbad for leaving the record label have surfaced on social media, fueling speculation and public interest in the case.
