Teebillz, the former husband of singer Tiwa Savage and a talent manager, has issued an apology following a recent social media controversy.
Teebillz had initially defended Naira Marley and Zinoleesky but later made a u-turn after facing backlash online.
The initial controversy began when Teebillz condemned the culture of cancelling artists and pleaded with Nigerians to forgive Naira Marley, the head of Marlian Music, for allegedly antagonising Mohbad before the latter’s unfortunate passing.
News About Nigeria gathered that Teebillz’s defence of Naira Marley and Zinoleesky was met with criticism from many Nigerians, and he faced online backlash for his unpopular opinion.
In response to the backlash, Teebillz decided to retract his earlier statements and issued an apology.
He acknowledged that his previous post had been insensitive and expressed regret for not intending to undermine anyone’s feelings or opinions.
In his apology, Teebillz also emphasised the importance of considering the role of mental health in Mohbad’s death.
Initially, Teebillz had penned a lengthy apology note.
“I’m sincerely sorry for the insensitivity of my earlier post! I don’t mean to undermine anyone’s feelings or Opinion…….
“I just rather be of help to this young man than judging him based on association along side being product of his environment!!!
“MENTAL HEALTH played a major role in MOHBAD’s last days weather you agree with me or not! ZINO is definitely feeling the impact too mentally now!!! My heart also goes out to SOLID STAR…..”
Still, he later edited it to a shorter version, where he expressed his sincere remorse and stated his intention to return to minding his business.
In his final words, Teebillz said, “Make una no vex… I go go back to minding my business! @instablog9ja abeg post my apology too! I’m highly sorry.”
